flux as in the GOP has moved to explicitly protecting Trump & toward far right, ruthlessly. Dems are somewhere in the center and have seen a huge uptick in progressive challengers. the range is from Corey Stewart to Merkley/Ocasio. I don’t think anything fundamental “swapped.”

The Republican party is shedding its upscale, corporatist and suburban voters in favor of more downscale whites while the Democrats are becoming largely racial/sexual minorities, female and internationalist business and foreign policy wise.
