Defense stocks plunging after the Korea summit is a reminder of why these companies have to spend so much $$$ convincing politicians and media that their interests align with the public interestpic.twitter.com/1F9jNilFem

Calling them "defense stocks" instead of "military stocks" is playing their game.

That semantic game was already lost when the Department of Defense was established.

Over time, the long-standing, perpetuated #NorthKorea threat has become a lucrative source of unlimited, unregulated military "defense" & #IntelligenceCommunity black budgets for the #USA #DoD, #CIA as well as their so-called "defense" contractors. For them, peace is bad business

It's the $. What else could account for the ridiculous fact that not one President until Trump bothered to talk to the enemy.

I bet it 's a ploy by shorts to play the market. You watch, they'll manipulate people into dumping their shares, poke the "catch a falling knife" players, then US will back out & shares will skyrocket.

If bombs aren't exploded, new bombs won't get ordered. They've been making $ on those NK 'war games' for 67 years.

There has got to be some way to get Tom Steyer to an antiwar position if he could get put options on a mutual fund with the arms corporations, and profit when peace breaks out

I'll bet Tom Steyer is heavily invested in military stocks. After all, he's a Neo-Liberal.

Like pretending that all those taxpayer-funded defense contracts somehow transform into "private sector" jobs. It's a hell of a magic trick, that.
