"The Western Alliance," which sanctimonious elites now posture as great defenders of, has also brought about disastrous wars, economic calamity, and decadent technocratic institutions that almost everyone else hates

These elites, in their arrogance, simply presume the virtue of "The Western Alliance" such as it currently exists, without bothering to make a case for why average Americans should care

The very notion of a "Western Alliance" is a vestige of post-World War II. That was a long time ago. If you can't point to anything beyond historical nostalgia, maybe you're losing the argument

But rather than recognize the weakness of their position, these elites will scream about Russia, hyperventilate about Trump -- anything to avoid reckoning with the fact that they are being repudiated

Your argument is equivalent to saying, "Just because breathing has always worked for you, it's a weak position to claim anyone should continue breathing." It's breathtaking in its ridiculousness and stupidity.

I would counter that analogizing an artificial alliance of nation states to the human body is a lot stupider

You can counter all you like. It won't make you any more correct. A record of success at avoiding armageddon-like scenarios is documentable. Demeaning documentable success in favor of "I want to try something else, 'cause I don't like this" is...vapid foolishness.

How can you possibly claim its artificial? Can you even explain why and how NATO came into existence and the function it plays in the world? And then explain how it’s artificial?
