Michael Tracey Retweeted AM Joy w/Joy Reid

Perfect example of how myopic most pundit commentary is re: Korea. It's all through the prism of inane psychological assessment of Trump. They don't care about the massively consequential geopolitical ramificationshttps://twitter.com/amjoyshow/status/1002914549991923712 …

.@DAVIDCORNDC: #Trump seems to be so easily played. That if you treat him well as Putin has done, if you flatter him as North Korea seems to be doing he’s on your side. He doesn’t care about giving photo op to repressive state of North Korea where they use mass starvation #AMJoy pic.twitter.com/niBUaEKB75

Where was this journalistic psychoanalysis when Obama was literally bowing in submission to every foreign leader?

@amjoyshow @DavidCornDC these two are a political version of heckle and heckle, the overly aggressive cartoon magpies.

Again, Michael, I'll ask you, how do you think this whole Korea thing will pan out? Do you think the DPRK will give up their nukes? Do you think the US will remove all our troops? Because that is what is being demanded by both sides. Nothing will come of this. DT is being played.

Why either/or? More likely outcome is a toning down of military stand-off on both side - example: DPRK nuke freeze and peace treaty, some US drawdown, some destruction DPRK nukes - and a lessening of tensions, also of sanctions

It's a result of the insane US foreign policy that says if we view others as backwards, we only shun and threaten them in order to coerce change. No concern with whether or not this strategy actually works to affect change. It's equatable with religious-fanatic thinking IMO.
