    A reminder that queer and trans ppl aren’t required to make an announcement about who we are. We shouldn’t assume that people are straight & cis until proven otherwise. At the same time, I never miss a chance to celebrate trans & queer people. SO. Happy

    Happy  ! It was worth all the nights of anxiety wondering how I could confront the truth within and cope with bullying as a kid to come into my own. That way I could wind up with this papi chulo who took me on a scenic drive this evening to commemorate today.

    Reading this is affirming. For a long time I was the kind of lesbian that didn’t want to be locked into an identity, so I often played it cool. Now that I teach, I make sure my students know this because I don’t want them to fear the professional consequences of being outed.

    Coming out was the single best thing I’ve ever done. It transformed my world for the better. But I only did so because I felt safe and protected. If you don’t, maybe it’s not your time. Wait. Your time will come. And it will be as amazing as you are.
