To add perspective. Not only is Brisbane currently just above Melb temps & way below Sydney but, I guarantee you, hardly anyone in Brissie has heating on. It’s a mindset thing. It’s why we feel the cold. We’ll blast the A/C 24/7 in summer but never think to hit reverse cycle! 🥶

The opening of the Maccas (out the front!) was huge. Fluro Sportsgirl accessories were the best. Shopping for parents’ gifts was dubious but always received with love. And,a bakery chocolate cake that had the best icing ever! It was certainly a safe haven for this 70s/80s kid. 😍

Toombul’s closure was inevitable & 🙌 I haven’t been there in years. Yet the childhood memories are strong. Fireworks in the car park near the Big T; the dreaded visits to the dentist upstairs; the excitement of those first, independent after school visits with friends.
