    Though venemous, this beautiful Sonoran coral snake also has a defensive fart. According to the book Does It Fart?, the snake emits a cloacal “popping sound of around 2.5kHz” which can be heard 2 meters away! Video:

    Just a heads up, a lot of graduate students from poor families financially support family at home even while in school. Being able to “focus exclusively on your studies” during grad school is kind of a luxury.

    1/6 Tucson AZ running yearly average temperature, calculated daily, showed a significant rise last decade peaking on February 9, 2018 with an average yearly temperature of 73.9°. The 1981-2010 yearly normal is 69.4°. Warmest year on record for Tucson was in 2017 @ 73.3°.

    In the Fall, we clear out their old nests to get rid of any parasites. We have found ribbons, dental floss, yarn, a fabric tag that came off a shirt I wore while mowing, and my favorite: silk flowers from the nearby cemetery. They are something else. My favorite bird!
