For succinct and revelatory punch, this actual TV screenshot linking policy and pharma stock quotes beats anything I’ve ever seen in a movie Here is our world now and the powers that drive it

As a former embed, was happy to participate in this excellent story by Kelly Vlahos about the embed system and how it helped advance War on Terror narratives:

When I read this piece by I knew exactly what he was talking about. I went to an evangelical junior high school; a lot of people on the left today sound like my classmates and teachers did back then. Too many leftists talk about privilege the way Calvinists talk abt sin.

This is why people don’t trust the media - when press figures not only make mistakes but think they’re above fixing them:

I remember coming back from overseas and seeing the conservative and liberal political book sections at Barnes and Noble. I thought, “What writer gives up half the potential audience from the start?” You should want everyone to read you.

No, I’m saying the alleged throng of overdose cases blocking care for gunshot victims in Oklahoma appears not to exist.

So, I already had to get a correction from one outlet that misidentified me as saying “ivermectin works,” which I never did. It’s amazing - merely identifying it as a human medicine instead of a “horse and cow de-wormer” is enough to inspire accusations of “promoting” the drug.

The modern corporate press has become a machine for generating error-ridden moral panics:

Joy Ann Reid despised the "ivermectin people" (she spoke the words as if holding a vile wriggling thing with Tweezers) so much that she itched to deny them medical care, despite never meeting them, and despite the fact that they may not even exist.

Today’s press constantly makes religious icons out of tendentious bureaucrats like Bob Mueller and “Saint” Anthony Fauci, strives to turn news narratives into Holy Writ, and delights even more than Falwell in its own version of divine retribution stories.
