I'm a runner who doesn't fit some folk's idea of what a runner should look like. Which means sometimes being on the receiving end of backhanded compliments. So shout out to folks who are out here running miles and making gains all while dodging insults disguised as encouragement

I was running down San Francisco’s panhandle one day, when a man walking down the same path hollered out to me “Running ain’t gonna take it off, girl!“ I was running for health and for the meditation. That’s not what you’re talking about but it was pretty bad
