I tried to explain this tweet to my coworkers and they said 'Do you want a CVE? We'll get you one'. I said that wasn't what the tweet meant and they said, 'Naw, definitely sounds like you want a CVE'

You can also retweet if you *do* have CVE's but support those that don't. All that's necessary to be a member of the community is to care about infosec, try in some way to make security better, and to not be a jerk.

And as long as you meet those requirements, or try to, you're absolutely valued.

I had to google “What’s a CVE”

Oh! Sorry! Hard to fit the non abbreviated version in Twitters character count.

Working in compliance, this entire thread would have been laughable if it wasn’t all too real and all too common. Full support here, full stop. cc

Right! Defensive work is far more important than offensive, but probably less likely to lead to CVE findings. I don't know why that would *ever* be how we rate competence. There's also an 80+% chance Gabs was singled out for being a prominent woman. Also way too common.

My never ending imposter syndrome caused by this sort of behavior prevents me from retweeting... but I hope I'm valued?

Of course you are!
