My son (4 years old), who has grown up watching us talk to Siri and Alexa, thinks you can talk to anything that has a screen or is plugged into the wall. This morning he told the toaster to order him a new lego set.

My 4-year old said to Xbox “Siri, play transformer robots”. Nothin’ - he says “Dad, what’s wrong?” And I said “Xbox isn’t Siri”. Doesn’t miss a beat, “Hey Cortana - play transformer robots”

In my part of the world, Siri is a reasonably common name. My kid was pretty surprised when she was younger when the screens lighted up when I called her mom. Now she just uses it to annoy her.

My older son likes to swipe the television and then complains that Sago World doesn't come up.

I find it fascinating how my kids primary "computer interactions" have been through voice. They speak un-constrained commands to their fake plastic phones. It's a completely different comfort and engagement type than those of us who grew up with traditional computing.
