Oprah started talking about making black eyed peas and cornbread with Stedman and the glint in her eye made me think of who I could be in thirty years. That woman was SO content with her man and her cornbread. Me 😂

If the GOP wants a wall so badly, they can try to propose and pass a bill like anybody else. Instead, they are seizing gov operations + innocent people’s pay until they get what they want. This is called hostage-taking. And no one can compromise or negotiate with that.

I introduced a bill to reduce maternal mortality in August. It’s alarming that Black mothers are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white mothers. This public health crisis must be addressed.

No jump shots. No ferns. No memes. Not this time. I’m going to give it to you straight: If you need health insurance for 2019, the deadline to get covered is December 15. Go to today and pass this on — you just might save a life.

The federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour is too low, and it's not enough to keep a roof over your head or support a family. No one working 40 hours a week should be forced to live in poverty. We must make the minimum wage a living wage.

^^ also to mention that this isn’t an issue confined to FB - struggles with hate speech + fake accounts as well. Whenever a major news event pops up, I see farms of fake accounts that rise up to influence discourse + spread disinformation. We need to get it together.

While I would disagree with your complaint that Americans get too much vacation time (we work some of the longest hours of any dev country & have no Fed required paid leave), I am willing to compromise by eliminating Columbus Day to give Election Day off. See? I can be pliant.

Don’t give up. Give yourself a pep talk if you need to.

Spent the entire day working on one couplet about GW. Hamilton’s slow going but it will be worth it.

Michelle and I are heartbroken for everybody who’s lost so much in California, and grateful for the heroism of the firefighters who’ve been risking their lives around the clock to save others. Please do what you can to help our fellow Americans in need:
