      I haven't been on a plane or a year or hiked in my favorite mountains and I guess it's never occurred to me to yell all day that my needs aren't met because it's a pandemic and people are dying.

      Exactly-I see all these parents of HS athletes whining about their kids not being able to play, yet there are lots of kids who have not been able to make music, or art, or theatre with their friends for the last 9 months, and their parents somehow are able to not lose their minds

          So many high school athletes rely on scholarships to get through college. If they don’t get to play they have fewer chances to be seen and get a scholarship. I think you still have a portfolio and can audition for music. It’s not a simple issue.

          fewer than 2% of high school athletes get college sports scholarships. and most of those are partial scholarships, not full. missing a year of lessons and rehearsals is just as damaging for musicians as missing a year of practices and games.
