    The discrepancy in response is jarring. Here in Hong Kong, public transport is dead quiet, everyone (but expats) are wearing surgical masks, and stores & supermarkets are low on supplies. In New York, friends are thinking of washing hands

    I see a lot of you tweeting about the coronavirus. This is a great podcast that goes into the facts on it. It sounds to me like if you wash your hands frequently and you don’t live with someone who has it, you’ll probably be okay.

    With the way the local government has handled 2019 -2020 protests and pandemic, teens in Hong Kong are growing up to be a politically jaded generation.

    7/ The travel industry, restaurants and malls are being hit hard by the travel curbs. Hong Kong, already reeling from months of protests and riots, is suffering a double whammy. Countries imposing travel bans to Chinese visitors seem to be extending the curb to Hong Kong also.

    There's this general (kinda) racist perception that Asian money is gamble-y, but in my experience the family office / UHNW space is conservative, cash on cash focus, and over-allocated to commercial real estate. Have seen many VCs try to fundraise out here w/ very little success

    After many years of cryptocurrency research, my conclusion is that even if you become a top 1% researcher in this space, there's still so much you don't know, don't understand or just haven't learned the true nuances of, and you're still completely wrong about almost everything.
