This is a useful illustration of the problem, John. Either you really believe this - in which case you've been lied to. Or you're just pretending to believe it for personal reasons - in which case you're willfully promoting 'fake news'. You may not even know which one you are!

It’s the same issue they’ve had with science reporting for years, they don’t know/want to take an objective stance, so it turns into he said/she said.

Correct. I read about a scientist who refused to go on to discuss the rise in anti vaxxers because they wanted to have an anti-vaxxer on with him ‘for balance’.
