    The South is so overwhelmed with the delta variant of COVID that hospitals in Tennessee and Florida are seeking to transfer patients to Minnesota.

    MN hosp report 477 COVID-19 patients, limited beds. MN is receiving transfer req from as far away as TN and FL, b/c fast-spreading delta variant has caused a COVID-19 surge in the South that has consumed available ICU beds. Less beds for MN residents 😞

    At 1AM this morning we passed the MN Public Safety Omnibus. There was powerful debate that brought hope - Chair spoke truth that brought tears. A Republican colleague stood that he would vote yes - that we need to meet the moment and was the only cross over vote.
