The stressful process line feels very true. In politics you often have a debate with someone and you can almost physically see them switch off when a complication is introduced there's no immediate answer for. Quite often they just repeat their original demand.

Yes if you find this kind of conceptual self-questioning aversive then the solution is to develop a script and either wrestle all the difficult questions back to that or just avoid them.
