The new recipe for social media stardom:
1. make a million dollars or achieve something oustanding
2. regurgitate stale platitudes with assertiveness

In January, I sacrificed efficiency for experimentation.
I wrote fewer articles on Medium, but:
- I streamlined my dictation workflow
- I made my conversations with ChatGPT far more productive.
Short-term inefficiencies = long-term gains
My favorite writer on Medium just clapped on a story of mine...
I'm embarassed, but I cried.
I'm THAT invested in my creator journey.
Anyway: this is one of the perks of being on Medium.
You get feedback from many passionate writers.
And sometimes awesome writers!
I just posted "Stuck on the same headline format" on Reddit
Zettelkasten is hard. But it's empowering, even in a partial implementation.
I started less than a month ago. I added at least one note every day.
Reformulating in my own words makes me own that information.
Now I eagerly wait to see unexpected connections pop up.
Rephrasing information in your notes proves you made it yours.
It's like practicing the Feynman technique being the student and the teacher at the same time.

The mindset to make the most of chatGPT
Think of it as a creative assistant.
It's sitting next to you. Bounce your ideas and keep adding details, exploring options, asking for suggestions.

If everything in life is hard, maybe nothing ist.
We expect that unicorn day without a hint of tension or trouble.
But maybe it's just a dream.
Maybe "difficulty" is a synonym for "life.”
A simple "trick" to make writing more impactful:
Replace adjectives with nouns.
For example:
"They are the most loyal"
becomes
"They are true fans"
See how it paints a more vivid picture?

Still 8 days to go in November, and I already topped last month's earnings.
No secret:
I've already published almost the same number of stories. 😁

I'm always striving for a varied vocabulary.
It makes my content more interesting, effective, and concise.
Premium is also telling me how I'm doing in this area. Not expected!

On your content keeps working for you.
It doesn't disappear in 24h.
Look at the earnings for a story published on Oct 24th.
An expected initial peak. Then it trickles for days AND peaks again later.
All that effort is not wasted!

Creating more content is scrubbing away the layers hiding my real voice.
In just 4 months, my writing on Medium has become more real.
I read myself more in those words.
A breath of fresh air for an introvert with baaad self-esteem!

That's a sign you may have found your calling.

Can't wait for September to end.
My medium growth was amazing. Putting together the monthly report will be fun!

Don't wait success to celebrate.
Celebrate the progress.
If there isn't progress, celebrate the process.
10/ Consistency compounds
We have a Google Doc called "UNSENT"—it's 152 pages.
When asked how he produces so much, Ryan Holiday says he just writes a little bit every day.
“Compound interest is one of the most powerful forces on earth. And you can apply that to your own work.

Getting curated on Medium is not necessary to make money.
This article buff.ly/3ffkiG7 made more than 6$ with less than 200 views.
It's a great ratio up until now for me.

Energy management is more crucial than time management.
Far harder too.
Yesterday I didn't feel like writing.
"Suck it up, lazy kiddo" I told to myself.
Drafting took much longer than usual. The result isn't exiting.
Listen to your body.

Sometimes I regret reading books repeating similar concepts. But through this repeated exposure and a variety of examples I find the perfect interpretation of my situation.
Here's a kick in the pants to the impostor syndrome.
I thought my growth on Medium wasn't great in August.
I published a report and I got the comment below.

I rarely pay for online courses.
I am a disciplined learner and pretty good at extrapolating first principles.
But I just forked over 500$ for a Medium course.
What convinced me?
A thriving community and coaching calls forever.
It already gifted me tens of followers!

This is the kind of email you want to receive from .
The number of claps counts.
But when there number of "clappers" (fans) is high, you are reaching more people.

in a category not specified within the tags and the text!
Didn't think it could happen.

A search engine to find the best publications on Medium:
buff.ly/3QSKt2J
You can also filter them by topic and tags.
It helps #mediumwriters reach larger audiences.
This trick will help you succeed with Medium publications:
- open the publication page
- add "archive" to the URL
- sort by most read
Study and imitate the top articles: topics, style, replies...

Struggling to find what to share when #buildinginpublic ?
Maybe your project isn't so exciting.
As I work on Medium, tweet ideas start flowing.
(Although sometimes I don't have time to post them...)
This is a thrilling project for me right now.
Is it the same for you?
Music is Trojan horse to get into flow while #writing
Recently, I got addicted to modern jazz guitarists.
They tickle my brain, keep the cogs running.
Try these:
- Kurt Rosenwinkel
- Pasquale Grasso
- Lionel Loueke
- Julian Lage
What are your suggestions?
This is the kind of ROI I'm looking for from shortform articles:
- 150 words
- from 0 to published in 30 minutes
- 11 fans
- 2 valuable comments (not just "thank you")
- a possible future mention
- less than 8 hours after publication

Writing short posts (within 150 words) is a muscle.
After about 10 of them, I nailed the exact length saying everything I wanted.

Today I wrote an article while walking outside.
Actually, I just thought it out. But when I get back home, I knew what I had to write.
The trick: seed your mind with a clear idea of what you need to reflect on.
Then, avoid distractions and explore the idea.

Is it possible to write and submit a 150 words post in 30 minutes?
I think so. I've managed to do a bunch of them on
I'm the fastest when the idea is very well formed in my head.
Otherwise ramblings are unavoidable.
Here are my short stories
After a wonderful month of July, my stats look depressing 😭
I almost stopped publishing for a week, I think that's the reason.
But I have a plan! 😉
Stay tuned.

Content batching keeps creators sane.
I use it in my business.
But there's a balancing pleasure in creating content every day.
So for my experiment, I'm not batching.
🤞 let's see in a month or so!
