    every politician is going to disappoint at some point or another. the key is to be as fierce an advocate as possible without being a perennially negative jackass. it's the perennially—and unjustifiably—negative jackasses on here that really grind my gears.

    This is one way to think about "reform" vs real reparations and dismantling the broken system. Reform says "we'll do better going forward". Reparations seeks justice retroactively for all who have been harmed. Dismantling the system seeks to root out all harmful elements.

    My first thought was "good" but my second thought is "wait, no, this is at best the bare minimum, it just *looks* good because most companies don't even acknowledge error"

    We found significant errors of judgment and procedure in a recent employee separation. We have reversed the separation, and our head of HR has taken personal accountability and resigned from GitHub. We apologize sincerely to the employee.

    I was not expecting this to turn into a blockchain play halfway through

    I do not celebrate or feel pride in our having to ban from Twitter, or how we got here. After a clear warning we’d take this action, we made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter. Was this correct?

    kids still get class rings? I figured they just bought commemorative Snapchat filters now or something

    HS students of America, don't be pressured by . I know exactly 0 people that wear or care about their HS class ring. If you have the cash to spare, put it in a Roth IRA instead.
