New Jepsen analysis! We talk about etcd's kv operations, watches, and locks. KV ops look strict serializable, and watches deliver all changes in order (with a minor undocumented edge case around revision zero). As usual, distributed locks aren't real:

Аааа! Предыстория: я собирал необычный интерфейсный синтаксис Яндекс-драйва (). Что же я вижу? Это просто невероятно. Насколько люди заморочились! Я очень тронут :–)

Netflix have made their own Change Data Capture (CDC) tool for MySQL and PostgreSQL… though maybe it would have been better to contribute to ?

I just saw a fantastic talk by Balaji Prabhakar from on Huygens and fear I might be out of a job soon. I'd definitely recommend checking out their paper from NSDI 2018:

Have you tried by ? I use it daily, literally. It's the best Postgres configuration reference ever created. Recently redesigned. I'm not a big fan of the new color schema, but I do like tiny improvements, details and information structure👍

Destructuring as a use-site mechanism is great, but as a declaration-site mechanism is even better. Declaring destructuring along with method / function declarations gets two for one: it communicates structural information to callers, and eliminates code to do the destructuring.

Malli schemas are open by default but can be closed via schema properties. There are also helpers to recursively open & close schemas and a new spell-checker - ported from 's aweome spell-spec library.

If you like Java, program in Java. If you like C#, program in C#. If you like Ruby, Swift, Dart, Elixr, Elm, C++, Python, or even C; by all means use those languages. But whatever you do, learn Clojure, and learn it well.

Over the last few months I've been working on durable (disk-backed) equivalents to the collections in Bifurcan. There's a lot left to explain, but I just got my first clean comparisons with RocksDB on smaller datasets and it's pretty exciting stuff:
