The anger is real. The discrimination is real. The ableism is real. The low expectations are real. My heart sinks wondering what would have happened to K if Covid did not happen. I would have never known what happens inside the class. How her disabilities cancel her as a child

I can't even imagine. I'm lucky to pay my bills every month. But if I have to I would do the same as you. This is my second battle with the school district and it's taking a toll on me. If I could afford private school I'd pull him in a heartbeat.

Schools and their staff need to be monitored and accountable. No parent should need to hire a lawyer to make sure their child receives an education and is safe from abuse in schools! All classrooms need CCTV!pic.twitter.com/w8FZapgV2P

@ACLU Hope you’re listening. And action, any action on your part, is past due. -
We all have to go to a lawyer eventually. It's not you, it's them. If they think you can't afford a lawyer that's when they get more abusive. You make them think you have nothing to lose and you'll do whatever it takes.

IDEA gives you ability to view ed records before every IEP meeting. Look at IDEA page 15 https://www2.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/ptac/pdf/idea-ferpa.pdf …

If only schools complied. If only their non-compliance was meaningfully enforced. If only they had to face full consequences for the damage they wreak.
