    Sadly this is actually true of many careers now adays... I think it's honestly a change in culture.

    As we come into 2020, I am now pretty sure I picked the wrong career. If I had known what computers were going to become, I probably wouldn't have wanted to be a programmer. It is definitely no longer a career for people who take pride in their work.

    Amen. We must always assume unauthorized parties could get ahold of data... And it'd be a lot nicer if that data was encrypted.

    Talk with NHS IT person ... "Do you use encryption to store paient data?", "No", "Why not?", "Because we only allow NHS staff to access it, so it's okay". I think we need to talk about building trustworthy data systems for the future, and not build on the legacies of the past.
