    Astonishingly stupid idea. Corporation tax is a tax on investment and workers' wages. Business rates are a tax on *landlords*, not businesses (). The government would be mad to do this – it would be a giveaway to commercial landowners.

    Exclusive: A government-commissioned report on the cost burden facing the beleaguered retail industry is to recommend increasing corporation tax by two percentage points, with the resulting £6bn of revenue being used to fund cuts to business rates.

    Nicky Morgan announces 8-week consultation on decriminalising the licence fee. In an article, she says the BBC could go the way of Blockbuster video, unless it moves with the times. 120,000 people sentenced for evasion in 2018. BBC says it would lose £200mil if decriminalised.

    Indeed Diane - faced with an abusive boss, we often advise members to deploy military self-defence tactics. What a ridiculous comment from an experienced MP, demonstrating blind political partisanship and a complete failure to understand how power is abused in the workplace.

    UPDATE: Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott has suggested it is "unlikely" Mr Leakey could have been bullied by John Bercow given his former military service.

    It remains shocking that Bercow has never been held accountable for his flagrant and repeated bullying of staff. Particularly disgraceful that the supposed party of workers has repeatedly backed him for partisan political reasons.

    Angus Sinclair was a career Royal Navy officer - a submariner - who was paid £86k to sign an NDA after a year working for Bercow. No doubt Angus could have decked Bercow, but he was belittled, mimicked, gaslit, undermined, shouted at.

    This. We kept saying it. Really we did.

    Brexit had to happen but it did not have to be so hard and harmful. The People’s Vote crowd share the blame for that. By killing compromise options and forcing the country to chose again, they made a bad situation worse. (NB: I voted Remain)

    This is a terrible take. It's not a hallowed tradition, but a relatively recent reform, which has, on the whole, made life harder for the government, but it won't do that if opposition MPs don't participate.

    It’s embarrassing watching establishment MPs respond to this with pearl-clutching pleas to have some respect for hallowed Parliamentary tradition. As if they don’t know that voters loathe them and our archaic political system perhaps more than at any point since the civil war.

    This is either: a) someone not understanding how the system works b) someone knowing but choosing to posture c) someone deliberately choosing to give up their ability to influence who chairs the committees Not sure which is worse.

    Sorry to be boring but the Tories lost the digital war both paid and organic. We've done the analysis and Labour had a larger share of voice on every platform - people were not buying the message.

    We lost the online battle in December. As Deputy Leader, I’ll create a digital team at HQ who go to every target seat, showing them how to make the most of Facebook ads, emails, Twitter, creating graphics and videos. All part of my Grassroots Revival:
