lol! I love to cook, hate to clean, so I tidy as I go while I cook to give myself the illusion the only thing I need to do after eating is drop my dishes in the dishwasher. I haven't killed my other self yet so it's working ;-)

It’s definitely true that I avoided cooking because of the dishes factor. As someone who lives alone, I don’t get to stick anyone else with the dishes, but I’ve gotten into finding new recipes and experimenting (as long as said recipes don’t require doing tons of cleanup).

Hmmmm.... not completely convinced. My observation is that this works (in het couples) for the man to cook but if the woman cooks she's about 50% likely to clean up anyway. Yes, I'm cynical.

I affirm this observation. However we have been fairly successful at maintaining an alternating after-dinner chore rota over the past months and that helps hugely.
