My #unrealfest talk on building tools in is up!
I talk about everything from high level-approaches to practical examples of different types of tools, and give a bit of a mention to 's Angelscript that we use at !

Gotta love how pretty much every issue which makes mildly unusable and disappointing has an issue open in their bug tracker since 2013 or earlier, masses of comments from people saying how badly it affects them, and no response from the company 🤡

Here are some tips for making a really good tool.
1. Force whoever is making the tool to use it either in test cases or in real-world scenarios.
2. Don't wait for folks to tell you what sucks about it, ask them directly. It's amazing what people "deal" with.

It's true that two different people could work for the same company and have wildly different experiences depending on the dominant culture at that company.

lol , what is going on?
You just sent me an email asking me to log in and report my age, but there is nowhere to do this on any of the account pages that the email links to?

Ahh, 's new Lightwork album seems like a great choice to test my new headphones. So clear and beautiful!
I can’t believe Twitter is still showing “views,” a useless junk statistic that nobody wants and which only makes you feel somehow bad no matter what it shows. Such an aggressively anti-human decision

a great cultural divide exists between those who first heard of fortnite as "the new kids game the kids are all into" vs those who heard of it as "the new third person shooter from the creators of unreal tournament"

I'm seeing *way* more promoted tweets in my timeline these days compared to a month (or even a couple of weeks) ago - Twitter trying to generate more income?

It’s important to stop wondering how prominent UK media figures could defend or even platform a Trump or a Tate. Recognise instead that either they are comfortable with the epic misogyny or they’re so desperate for clicks they’ll endorse it. And know that there’s no difference.

I wonder if she still thinks this way, given that he's just been arrested as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation? Totally normal things to be involved with, right?

I'd choose Andrew Tate's life *every single time* over the life of a half-educated, doom-mongering eco-cultist. And the only car I own is a diesel Tiguan.

So much frickin' cr*pto spam on Twitter now :(

Great job Twitter. Just pick up random common words from any tweet and say they're trending. Utterly useless

The way the Twitter mobile app used to work for ads (as far as I saw) was that promoted tweets would appear between the 1st & 2nd chronological tweets.
Now it's just plastered right at the top, filling most of the screen.
With the new stats crap, app quality degrading so fast. 😕

the issue with twitter’s prolonged, surreal, exceedingly stupid collapse is that twitter is the best place to watch twitter’s prolonged, surreal, and exceedingly stupid collapse

Heh, I've had my 🐘 link in my bio ever since I set up over there, still seems to be valid.
Let's see what happens!
I kinda half suspect Twitter have introduced this boneheaded policy to stir up more activity on their network, so they can point at stats in meetings with investors

Just as you'd expect, the combination of
1. Banning journalists who've been critical of Elon
2. Preventing people from updating their bios so that Mastodon "friend finder" tools like fedifinder.glitch.me can't see new bio updates
has caused a huge spike in Mastodon sign-ups

So far, every Musk comment/policy has been directly related to his own personal experience on Twitter and little else.
