Upon some testing through rebooting after each installation, it seems like the culprit was the installation of AVG antivirus...? no idea why

@moppin_ this just makes me feel even more skeptical about razer products, the only products that i haven't had problems with are razer mice -
@basedsimo Yeah never been a fan of them either but I bought this because people recommended it to me and I did read some good reviews on it
