    GOOD QUESTIONS! [my q - are we all just going to have to abandon these platforms now because they are so demonstrably toxic - or perhaps find ways to regulate them so hard that they're ruined anyway?]

    Given what was known about today - from the rowdy armed unmasked goons piling onto planes to DC, to the unstable state of mind of the President to the results in Georgia, *what were* platform policy contingency planning meetings for this eventuality? Anything....?

    I couldn’t find UK statement, , so here’s a quick draft: “We condemn this attempt to subvert the democratic will of the American people, and those in the outgoing administration that has incited it. We call for calm, restraint and a peaceful transition of power.”

    LOL. "On balance.."

    This is an emergency situation and we are taking appropriate emergency measures, including removing President Trump's video. We removed it because on balance we believe it contributes to rather than diminishes the risk of ongoing violence.

    Thanks to the UK for playing such a strong role on the world stage...

    Just about everyone I’ve ever interviewed or photographed while covering the 2014 protests — at the start of my career — and the 2019 protests has been arrested, is in jail, or in exile. The entire cast of characters of the story of democracy in Hong Kong gone in one fell swoop.
