People have the right to believe whatever fundamentalist razzle-dazzle they choose. When it comes to mutilating helpless children in the name of those beliefs, however, that right is forfeit. Circumcision is deeply wrong. http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/circumcision-why-risk-your-childs-well-being-a-call-to-all-israelis/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter … #timesofisrael #circumcision

Besides the trauma of mutilation, bringing children into a religious covenant without their consent is an abuse. I think humans should be free from religious beliefs until able to decide for themselves.

In principle, I agree. In practice, this might be difficult as it would require effort to keep kids from receiving input from religiously active parents until they reach their majority.

Not only that, if you follow that line of thought then any value, either consciously or unconsciously transmitted to your children constitutes abuse? I don't think so.

If you view religion as brainwashing, as some people do, then yes. Of course, the ideal thing in this case is to tell your kids how you see it and tell them that when they grow up they can figure out what works for them.

Raising a child is giving conscious/unconscious values; children aren't rational being until later in life; failing to set boundaries-values produces entitled people who can only think of themselves... As we are painfully witnessing in the WH now. Bad for them, worse for society!
