In the 1980s, Susan visited schools to show anti-nuclear movies as her husband installed solar panels. After learning more about nuclear, she changed her mind & views nuclear as a way to protect the environment for her grandchildren & future generations.

Emma Redfoot, after spending a year in South America, realized the need to reduce emissions while increasing energy consumption in the developing world. She then decided to work on nuclear power, the only solution she saw to both.

It breaks Rita Baranwal's heart (and mine!) that we don't currently recycle nuclear fuel in the US (as they do quite successfully in France!)

Awesome. Nuclear heat from US-designed AP1000 reactors replaces coal for district heating near Shanghai. 60,000 tons of CO2 saved per year, as well as a 1000 tons of crap that people will not have to breathe any more.

Here’s the thing: shutting down existing nuclear plants has led to increased emissions when it has happened in Germany, California, and likely Vermont. I don’t want carbon emissions to go up. That is a very real risk for example in NY state right now.

Nuclear waste is actually one of the best arguments FOR nuclear energy. It’s completely contained, hurting no one, relatively tiny, and shockingly boring (sorry, academic friends).

By now, more Japanese have died from the closing of Japan's nuclear power plants following the 2011 Tohoku quake than from the tsunami and the earthquake combined.

Germany’s renewables experiment is over. By 2025 it will have spent $580B to make electricity nearly 2x more expensive & 10x more carbon-intensive than France’s. The reason renewables can’t power modern civilization is because they were never meant to.

Agree, this is nicely done. Let’s talk about the issues with civility and decide the best path forward. Together.
