I was just at the #ElPasoShooting memorial outside Walmart and met some @realDonaldTrump supporters who were escorted away by a dozen police and state troopers. Here’s what happened.pic.twitter.com/1FZeUBtX68

Brenda Vigil, 55, at left, joined Zeke, at right, both Latino Trump supporters who voted for the president and plan to again
They told me they came to the memorial to pay their respects, saw anti-Trump signs, then Zeke went to his truck and got his sign
Vigil got tickets to the Trump rally here in February, says there are tons of Trump supporters here who are afraid to rally or speak out. She called them “the silent majority.”
Trump got 26% of the vote in El Paso county, which has its own chapter of Latinos for Trump. El Paso is a border city but also a religious, military town with a Republican mayor.
Here’s the sign that upset Vigilpic.twitter.com/PAZnNgmB5H
Vigil, who is Latina, defended @realDonaldTrump rhetoric about immigrants, saying “it is an invasion.”
Some in the crowd were upset by the Trump supporters. “This is not the time,” said Desiree Pimentel, 24.
Daisy Guzman, 20, shops at the Walmart, works at the nearby mall and said she feels attacked “for the color of my skin.” “We’re not just bitter. We’re upset, we’re here for a reason.”
Angela Noaker, 55, of El Paso also voted for Trump and wanted to speak at the open mic praising him...pic.twitter.com/zVQZ3Hx2KG
