The NCAA initially told WSJ that women's bball leaders "chose" not to use the March Madness brand. After WSJ reached out to a former official, NCAA admitted that was inaccurate. Turns out WBB execs asked at least once to use the brand and were rejected.https://www.wsj.com/articles/march-madness-ncaa-tournament-womens-basketball-11616428776?st=s5g5isk8ffit77r&reflink=article_copyURL_share …

Head's need to roll. It's bad enough that all these inequitable things were done, but then to straight up lie over and over - and amateur hour lies at that - is unbelievable. They had little credibility going in, and now whatever they had was flushed down the toilet.

This whole thing is so frustrating. NCAA needs to get with the program and make things equal

I'm a fan of women's basketball. It's more fundamental and pure. But the women's tournament isn't Madness or a great TV product because there are so few upsets, or actual madness. Yesterday, higher seeded teams were undefeated. It's predominantly a chalk tourney.

NCAA stole the phrase (a TM) from Illinois' high school tournament and a famous court case gave the NCAA rights to use the mark. The use of it is now governed by an entity jointly run by the NCAA & IHSA. https://www.jdsupra.com/post/contentViewerEmbed.aspx?fid=4103a228-dbd5-4cb2-a419-b9eb4698235b …

I notice that while the official NCAA Lax account is for both the men’s & women’s game they use #NCAALAX for the men & #NCAAWLAX for the women. I’m sure this isn’t the only case.

The entire @ncaawbb leadership team needs replaced. They obviously either a) don’t get it or b) knew this was wrong but didn’t have the strength to fix it. Complete leadership failure.
