I didn’t mention Jaime Jarrín in this piece because he’s getting his own appreciation newsletter soon. His impact can’t be reduced to a paragraph celebrating someone else. He’s a living legend.

The Dodgers just announced they will (finally!) retire Fernando Valenzuela’s number, breaking their tradition of only retiring jerseys from players elected to the Baseball Hall of Fane. This is long overdue and so deserved. No Dodger has meant more to the city of LA. 💙💙💙

My child never returned home from the fourth grade because people in Texas love guns over children…So, if you’re wondering how life in a red state is …..

My child’s kindergarten teacher masked her behind my back today (I’ve made it clear we don’t do masks) so if you’re wondering how life in a blue state is … 😡

I’m posting this to continue to raise awareness of how women in sports are harassed on a daily basis. I worked all 4 years of college to afford an education, graduated with a degree in my field and have over 6 years of experience..yet still reduced to this. Men, be better.

What is there to even tweet? The GOP refuses to do any gun safety reform when classrooms full of young children get massacred. They aren’t going to care when a bunch of adults who went dancing get slaughtered.

This is Spike. He is officially the oldest living dog in the world, at a spry 23 years and 52 days young. That means he was born in 1999. Claims the secret to his longevity is frequent, uninterrupted naps. 14/10 #SeniorPupSaturday
a cream-colored chihuahua sits next to a framed guinness world records certificate that declares him the world’s oldest living dog as well as, and we quote, “officially amazing.” the frame is taller than the dog.
a cream-colored chihuahua sits on a hardwood floor and looks expectantly at the camera. his nose is slightly pink, and his ears are up in two perfect points.
a kid with light brown hair and wearing a camo jacket proudly smiles while holding a light colored chihuahua pup. the sun is low behind the duo, casting a golden glow in the kid’s hair and making the pink inside the dog’s ears look slightly translucent.
a cream-colored chihuahua sits in front of some unfinished wooden paneling. the dog’s eyes both have small cataracts forming in the middle, and his ears are perky and alert.

Solidarity & love to all the literal geniuses who use their editorial brilliance to bring in audience and respect and awards for their employers, which the employers in turn use to bring in millions from advertisers & investors, and who then get chucked bc “times are tough”

I cannot even imagine the chaos that Ticketmaster will unleash upon society when Beyonce decides to tour next. If their fuck ups even approach what happened with the Taylor Swift ticket debacle the BeyHive will join with the Swifties to bring the whole company down

This whole queue thing is bullshit. Used to be you'd log on when tickets went on sale and you either got them in the first five minutes, or you didn't and moved on with your day. Now you have to wait an hour or more in a line to be told the show is sold out.

To all the folks who were laid off today by SB Nation: start a substack. Best thing I ever did. No more living in fear that the next layoffs will hit you. No more dealing with terrible corporate people who have no idea what doing something creative for a living is like.

The residents of Laurel Canyon are currently filling the canyon with David Crosby songs played at top volume in a tribute to the fallen musician—Crosby, Stills & Nash sang together for the first time at the L. Canyon home of Mama Cass Elliot.

It’s true—dolphins were spotted in the Bronx River this week! This is great news—it shows that the decades-long effort to restore the river as a healthy habitat is working. We believe these dolphins naturally found their way to the river in search of fish. (Video: Nick Banco)
