First time I have heard of EDC. Interesting.

There used to be this great YT channel run by an Asian American physican who used to be obsessed with collecting fountain pens. Had 100s of pens by reputable makers from France, England, Germany and Japan. Had encyclopedic knowledge He became completely bitter about his 'hobby'.

Damn shame he set it to private. I would have loved to have seen his decline from fountain pen enthusiast to straight up Teddy K posts.

There was a time I used to be impressed by his videos on what not to buy pen-wise. He would literally whip out 1000s of dollars worth of frail, delicate artisanal Italian and French fountain pens in creamy Italian leather pen folders and boxes - raving on what was not worthwile.

Men get trapped by this. 'Vintage' watch collecting is another vulnerability of the upscale bugman. Or fine handmade clothing. And old cars as well if you are really rich.

I’ve seen the vintage watch thing and I’ve seen it ruin people. Literally bankrupt people who should know better.
