The movie isn’t a call to arms. It’s a mirror to current year society & also to the secret yearnings and desires of those who are attracted to watch such a film. It acknowledges the shit they live in, but offers no redemption for them. That must come from a future generation.
The film also accurately depicts how the media fakes moral outrage and righteousness, but is really a cynical manipulator just in it for the clicks. Overall, I enjoyed it and recommend it. My only criticism was the final few minutes but I won’t discuss that due to spoilers.

It’s like the Daoist Yin-Yang symbol depicts. Order when dominant contains its own little dot/seed of chaos, chaos contains within that what will become future order. Joker shows the black Yin side of the symbol triumphant, but Batman is the emerging white dot of hope.
