Great thread, despite the many factual inaccuracies it does *really* hit home. I do think you were too exposed to Stockholm which is an absolute shithole tbh. The people there are the most npc in Europe probably, remnants of high trust and Cosmo/lib surely.
A very large part of Stockholm’s population works in government agencies, media, lobby groups, unions, corporate PR. They live under socialism funded by the rest of the country while believing they are the economic engine. Though the rest of Swedes are slowly waking up. Slowly.
After reading this thread, everything about Ikea makes sense. Self pick-up, self assembly, lousy customer service, utilitarian design. It all adds up because Ikea = Sweden.

Honestly, this isn't even close to accurate.
Volvo auto was bought by the Chinese years ago. Grew up in the back of one of their station wagons (estate cars); now I have to doubly avoid them.

Nice thread. The Danes agree and ask not to be generalized together with the much weaker Swedes.. Daneland is waaaaaay more loose and lively than Sweden
