Interesting thread 1. What was one place you were banned from going that you wished you could visit? 2. What was your curfew time? 3. What were the types of white pepo who were in your tour group? 4. Will Westernization destroy NK?
1. The casinos. There are casinos in NK where naughty stuff happens but they’re reserved for the Chinese. 2. Curfew depended on when we were dropped off after our last stop. 1st night was 6pm as dinner was in the hotel. Final night was 10pm because of dinner on the boat.
3. Very odd mix. Largest number of western tourists apparently come from UK first, then Germany, then US. Japanese “can” go but it takes forever to get the visa. There were also some odd “true believers” who were there for the Day of the Sun and were weird communist remnants.
4. Chinese style capitalism is more likely to enter North Korea than westernisation. It’s slowly happening.
