Close all the schools! Biggest reduction in contagion risk you can get without seriously affecting demand (teachers get paid, schools don’t have revenues that fall when they close)

Think of it this what: what is the elasticity of demans wrt social isolation increase for various activities to shut down. You want to do things where you increase isolation, but at little cost to demand. Schools are hard to compete with here.

I understand this is an inconvenience and cost, but you have to ask is it more costly and inconvenient than shutting down other types of activity? And can you reduce the risk of other types of shutdowns this way?

Our school funding is based on average daily attendance. Governor needs to waive this or we are held to it. Even with wildfires and flooods, this is not a guarantee.
