Having lost the arguments about climate change happening at all, and then about it being caused by people, the latest approach seems to be "but nothing bad is going to happen".

That one has a bit more stickiness, and is being helped by some of the more ludicrous claims being made by some activists. That's not to minimise the consequences; they are currently bad, and will get worse. How much worse depends on what mitigations the world can put in place.

The IPCC put out regular reports on the impacts of climate change. The next one is due out October 2021, the current one is here -- https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar5/wg2/ Those are consensus forecasts of what is most likely to happen. It's pretty awful already, and doesn't need embellishment.

Sea levels aren't going to rise by 60 meters. The world won't be devoid of ice caps. We won't be living in a literal Mad Max scenario. There will be water shortages, sea level rises, flooding, stronger storms, wildfires and desertification caused by climate change.

Limiting CO2 emissions will reduce the harms. In the west; by electrification of energy use for transport and heating, efficiency improvements and decarbonisation of the electricity supply. That is best achieved by a combined strategy of renewables and nuclear energy.
