Tangentially, this reminds me of The Independent's genuine confusion about Whatsapp's group chat limit of 256 users, and the (unsatisfactory?) resolution thereof.pic.twitter.com/ImuoiNHZVe

I forgot to mention also the auto-documented assembly that the reference compiler produces, which cross-references the source code. No student had to ask us "what does this instruction do", and almost all students auto-commented their own code generators as well.pic.twitter.com/aoneg3sLLr

Art, science, and different perspectives on fuzzing. Both excellent articles!pic.twitter.com/wOsMRG7nig

Wow, I did not realize that researchers have studied the "reproduce" vs "replicate" terminology in such depth. So much kudos!

Does anyone else think that ACM's "replicated" and "reproduced" artifact badges are mixed up? I usually think of *reproducing* the results of an analysis (on the same data), but *replicating* a study (by collecting new data).pic.twitter.com/krgGXcTw8i

I was reading this thread while contemplating my own breakfast choice, but I'm glad to be in the "healthy" club.pic.twitter.com/d3tkF8eD6S

OMG my vacuum cleaner might been manipulating me via fake sounds: "[The user] gets the feedback that his work is worth doing and that he does a good job, since the dust flow is continuously decreasing;" https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/29f7/bdf65bfc32b3ca001e1019f2fa83f0b6a42b.pdf …pic.twitter.com/3oXcr2JNgI

UCSD's requirements involve tricky right-associative conjunctions (a test of English in itself?!) and the term "dominant language": https://grad.ucsd.edu/admissions/requirements/international-students/english-proficiency.html …. (8/)pic.twitter.com/Njzd5SpDYz

Really cool stuff! Key insight: A grammar-based fuzzer is essentially an interpreter for a random bitstream in the language of grammar symbols. F1 applies tricks from VM-land such as supercompilation and context threading to get massive speedups in input generation. https://twitter.com/_rahulgopinath/status/1197172631344164864 …pic.twitter.com/EPPfXqV34L

Is using texture an option?
@cestlemieux made these plots for our paper that are reportedly colorblind safe and can be easily distinguished when printed in grayscale on our (not so secure) lab printer.pic.twitter.com/qUDxRPXkX1

Excuse the plug, but some of the authors clearly the authors did not read my 10 tips: https://blog.padhye.org/Artifact-Evaluation-Tips-for-Authors/ … :-P I'm actually surprised at how well the observations from this study correlate.pic.twitter.com/CbFkM6kgbA

Thanks for pointing that out! With SOSP/OSDI in the same bucket, there is definitely a bigger skew.pic.twitter.com/uUopn1K8c9

Co-authored my first
@USENIXSecurity paper, with the amazing folks at@Samsung_RA! Fuzzing one of the most unfuzzable environments, via full-system emulation, reveals 48 vulnerable "Trusted Applications" across four TEEs that run on ~2 billion devices. http://rohan.padhye.org/files/partemu-usenixsec20.pdf …pic.twitter.com/AiXaMbEaPe

That's quite interesting. I sense that the OSDI 2020 venue is not on a metro line either.pic.twitter.com/yNhLIy7fz4
