Finally releasing FuzzFactory, our AFL extension for customizing search strategies and domain-specific fuzzing goals! Preprint of our upcoming OOPSLA paper at . Joint work with , who also designed the fantastic logo!

An *excellent* talk on automated testing of filesystem crash consistency. If you are into fuzzing/testing but don't know anything about filesystems: this talk explains the problem in depth, shows why it's *very* hard, and presents an automated system that finds real bugs!

And this is why we need basic research. Someone is out there today is coming up with answers to questions you'll have tomorrow.

Check out the RLCheck preprint! Cool idea to try and use reinforcement learning to tune generators to generate more valid (assumption-satisfying) inputs. With

Wow, I did not realize that researchers have studied the "reproduce" vs "replicate" terminology in such depth. So much kudos!

Does anyone else think that ACM's "replicated" and "reproduced" artifact badges are mixed up? I usually think of *reproducing* the results of an analysis (on the same data), but *replicating* a study (by collecting new data).

I believe review of journal-first papers is also lightweight, since they are already accepted by journal reviewers. See for ICSE 2020's call for journal-first papers.

SE conferences have an interesting journal-first presentation model. For example, papers accepted to the IEEE TSE journal can be submitted for presentation at either ICSE, FSE, or ASE the same year. Conference can be chosen based on travel cost (money or carbon) and visa issues.
