Expected snow onset timing, ranging from 6 to 9pm along and south of Interstate 90, to between 9pm and midnight further north.
Map of forecast snowfall with broad swath of 5 to 8 inches from northern Iowa to central Wisconsin. 1 to 2 inch per hour snow rates overnight with bulk of wet, heavy accumulations ending by daybreak.
Difficult Travel Overnight. Be ready for snow-covered roads, hazardous to dangerous travel, poor visibility. Avoid unnecessary travel. If you must travel, take it slow, leave plenty early, pack emergency kit, notify others of your plans.

Raining, sleeting or snowing? Always manually turn your headlights on - don't trust your automatic headlights because it may not be dark enough for the light sensors to trigger the turning on of them.

Deteriorating travel conditions will be possible late tonight and for the morning commute on Tuesday, as an incoming winter system brings a wintry mix to the region. Remember to slow down and leave extra space to keep yourself and others on the road safe!

Warmer temperatures have been appreciated by our snowplow operators this week while cleaning up. Here are a few drifts on Hwy 76 north of Caledonia in #HoustonCounty. They’re much smaller now, but you can envision the challenging conditions during the blizzard a week ago.
