    It just makes economic inequality more persistent if, while rich kids are being taught the recipe for wealth, you tell poor kids it's impossible to become rich except by being a crook:

    I’m seeing a lot of tweets like this from people who supported impeachment. If you actually believed acquittal would strengthen the president, why were you for impeachment, when acquittal was the obvious outcome?

    Sitting in a bar last night I spent a good half-hour staring at liquor bottles & I can say with confidence: Tito's vodka has the most awful design of any beverage. How is it even possible that 200 other brands spent $$$$ on pretty bottles and Tito just used MS Word 97 & got rich?

    It was going so well until that last line. The cause of everyone's anxiety is fear. Fear of the future coming to get you. In the 60s-80s the anxiety was about the nuclear war. Now it feels like we have many more ways *this all* can end. It's an ancient fear of god, without "God."

    The modern mental illness is anxiety. The symptom is inability to fall asleep. The evidence is pills, meditation apps, opioids, and sleep trackers. The causes are oversocialization and overstimulation.

    NYT endorsement is like Putin's announcement last week that he'll re-write Russia's constitution. In both cases ppl were waiting for the establishment leader to anoint a successor, but the leader is like, "nah, I'll just make things incomprehensible & see how it goes, fuck you"
