I think the point is that because of the electoral college, any candidate that runs up the score massively in California but loses in swing states _still loses_. There are no democratic presidential candidates that lose in California. Not even Tulsi Gabbard.

Unfortunately, the average for those "battlegrounds" include NH and ME, where Trump's approval has been substantially worse. (ME-2 is a special situation, but the state as a whole does not like him).

No one ever tweets the margin of error. It’s +/- 3.1% for this poll.

That is only for the full poll, not for the battleground breakout. The margin of error should be significantly larger since it is a much smaller sampling.
