Why Republicans seize on abortion and culture debates -- and why they can backfire. This morning's @MTPFirstReadhttps://www.nbcnews.com/politics/meet-the-press/republicans-seize-culture-debates-sometimes-it-backfires-n1005856 …

        Lol, “seize”. Was “pounce” taken?

I also disagree. Clearly, they were seizing. This article is misleading.

Seizing. Pouncing. Pouncing. Seizing. They pounce. They seize. And us “journalists” remain stale, wed to our narratives and bias.

Why did the abolitionists seize on culture debates? Could it be because people have a conscience and oppose things that are morally wrong?

Why is it called called “culture debates” when Republicans do it, but “identity politics” when Democrats do it? (Especially when MSM has decided that “identity politics” is bad?)

Those are two entirely different things. Kneeling for the national anthem is a culture debate. It has nothing has nothing to do with identity. Identity politics presumes that culture is defined in terms of identity, which is false
