Product analytics and collection of customer data is not inherently bad. It enables the organization to enhance their customers' experiences. The writers of this article were aiming to go after Ring.

You don’t really understand your limits until you actually hit them. This means you should always aim higher than what you think you can achieve.

Another way to look at it. 👇 We all have 24 hours in a day, but we all prioritize it differently. I carve the time to foster our relationship because it matters to me.

We hosted another pair-programming workshop last week, this time in Bogotá, Colombia. Getting to know our students and community in person is one of the biggest joys in my job as the founder of a fully-remote school/company.

Seems like I’ve been saying this to friends a lot lately: You shouldn’t feel guilty about not being happy in your current job. It’s okay to both be grateful for your current job & income stability but also wanting to explore other opportunities you may feel more fulfilled doing.

Prediction: Super niche productized services are the next big scalable biz model. SaaS and online courses have been in vogue for the last decade. Courses help you LEARN what to do. Software helps you DO the work more efficiently. In 2020, people just want the work DONE.

In many ways, this is a "reformatting" of cable packages. Much worse customer experience over the next few years, though. However, I'm a bull on Netflix making it out alive because they are playing offense while others are playing defense.

With a dozen streaming services soon to be made available and no one willing to actively subscribe to them all, I see a lot of room for synergy. We've seen this with Spotify + Hulu for students and Netflix + T-Mobile. It will continue.

I don't think Netflix deserves to be included in FAANG. People will follow the content they seek (driving up costs to acquire content) and a recommendation algorithm only goes so far. Good content is easy to buy / create with bags of money. v
