we low key had this 30 years ago, is the problem

I don’t care about what’s possible, only what is actually in my hands. I just blasted that thought into thousands of heads. Not really feasible even 15 years ago.
-
you have an unusually popular twitter - something that *was* possible, by the way, ten years ago. 15 years ago we had popular writers doing something similar. i agree there's more communication, but 1) is it really as miraculous as you're framing it? 2) are we better for it?
-
Yes. Usability and market penetration matter.

1/I agree. I'm currently looking at the idea of memes being "viruses of the mind" and the starting point is that they always have been throughout history, but that we are in the midst of the largest and most unprecedented and unmoderated social experiment in history as social
-
2/ media provides the platform for *everyone* to spread their ideas, with the *best* (as in those that take hold the easiest and essentially self-replicate where the originator often loses control of the meme) perhaps changing more minds than many traditional forms of media
-
3/ have in the past. I think it's one reason why the 'media elite' are having such a public meltdown. The prestige that in the past was included in their "physic income" is rapidly depleting as the quickly lose control of the narrative. We live in interesting times.

Jeez, *psychic

In France, I have 100 GB/mo for €20. In India, I had 1.5 GB/day during 3 months for ₹500. Both with unlimited phone calls & text messages. Maybe not exactly free, but almost too cheap to meter. Flying cars, though … we’re not even close.
-
I'm paying about $100/mo in Australia for mobile and home connection combined We could be closer on flying cars if we wanted to be, it's not an issue of technology it's an issue of motivation. It's not a good enough idea to seriously pursue
-
The problem with flying objects is the fuel required for lift needs to be lifted as well, which means more fuel, so a larger (and heavier) object, and on and on. We have technologies to mitigate this issue (helicopters, planes…), but they’re not really as convenient as a car.
-
vehicles don't need fuel to move.

Before they pointed out it’s a safety hazard.

Now I don’t think people want flying cars anymore.
