Thank you! As I learned, Champeta as a dance/genre is indeed modern and the adapted version we know now is a mixture of cultures. The links to colonial settlements and people with a background of slavery is however outstanding. Have phrased it not clearly enough, sorry!

@MLouisaE Champeta is a second half 20th century music trend among Colombian communities of black heritage. Seafarers brought then African vinyl records, often of Zairean origin, to Colombia.
