I've decided to start sharing conversations I get into - in a way to streamline my time in endless loops on this. Please - if you want to hire women - just hire them. Details below.

More depressing news on gender equity from SPIE....on average 37% salary compensation less for women.. growing disparity in compensation with seniority. It's great to have the data to supplement the personal experience many have had to rely upon to try to affect local change....

Important Op-Ed by Esther Dyson (the founding chair of ICANN). "Dot-org, which was built to support nonprofits globally, is being sold to the highest bidder with almost no public discussion or consideration of alternatives."

Fireside chat to ~350+ entrepreneurship course @ UC Berkeley last week.... Why I keep going & how to keep standing up when you get kicked down - over and over - how to live & even love it. Might be a recipe for success for some of the rest of us. Like me.

I've come to believe it's the only way out of this -- Make it clear to everyone where the money comes from. The donors will like that too. Everyone can discuss, vote with their feet if need be

Asymmetry in gift visibility is the result of a futile attempt in anonymous funding -meaning- influence at the top and invisibility below. Let's just make it clear where the money comes from to all and have the discussions.

MIT's president writes that the Epstein debacle is to be resolved by debugging processes. He's wrong. It's about morality. Stop the legalistic language. The moment demands moral leadership.

Another new piece in TR: "the “disqualified donors” list didn’t usually mean a donor’s money was off limits under MIT’s rules, but just that the person was considered unlikely to donate" - this is a huge difference.
