I’ve noticed stores still open in SC keeping doors open now and I was like thank you finally.

A hundred people spread across a multi-acre park with trees and paths is the same thing as 100 people in the same, large room all sitting near each other, walking by each other as they enter and exit? Are you insane?

That this even has to be said is insane

The only thing I would say is try to limit crowding at the parks and they should be open

Have you been to central park in NYC?

How do you account for the people who will do the wrong thing in the park? (Not wear a mask, not stay 6 feet apart, meet up with people they don't live with, etc.) Their chance of becoming infected increases as does the chance they'll spread it at the grocery store or home, etc.

Playgrounds and touching the same things (frisbee) may spread things. Talking to each other while standing up with masks on in the open air with a fresh breeze is totally acceptable.

Exposure to sunlight is probably even more important... UV radiation is generally good as an anti-viral measure, and increased production of Vitamin D can be critical for preventing blood clotting (probably the main cause of COVID illness) and modulating the immune system...
