Why does @Stanford still have a Library named after a white former faculty member who everyone admits sexually abused an Asian American female student? Could we just care about women of color? Could we just stop doing horrible things?pic.twitter.com/Ij0S4kSG3g

Here's an idea. How about we just take a sharpee and cross out "Jay Fliegelman" on those stickers if for some reason we think ordering new stickers saying "Stanford University Library of Association Copies" is just too hard. Fliegelman is DEAD. We can stop covering for him now.

In most civilized educational organizations, you would read this in the New Yorker about your own faculty member and be like "oh shit that guy was really really bad, quick get me the white-out" @Stanford named a library after him.pic.twitter.com/uMq4qld2tD

P.S. when I say "we" I mean Stanford. I am not suggesting anyone who is not Stanford-authorized take white out or a sharpee to the library and deface a book. I think that's clear but our Office of General Counsel might launch an investigation into protected speech because reasons

It wouldn't be the first time Stanford investigated protected academic freedom or First Amendment speech. It wouldn't even be the first time in my case, let alone others.https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/03/us/stanford-federalist-society-nicholas-wallace.html …

We got rid of it in the ASECS grad caucus. Seems the least they could do. Not like they don't know what happened.

Thank you for being the only professor at Stanford brave enough to support me publicly.
